I am sick and tired of people trying to tell me off for drinking bottle water. Me drinking water isn't me trying to say "oohh, I'm better than you", no; I drink bottled water because it's convenient and tastes better than tap water. oh, what's next, you complain about how it's not green enough? I'm all about saving the earth, but I also take into account people and their needs; meanwhile, I dispize "green preachers" because every single one I've met either is dumb--not knowing the facts--or a lier--making up the facts to try to scare people into converting to their philosopy, often times not even so that they can help the earth, but so that people will recognize that they are better than them.
Seriously, one of the things about "green preachers" I hate the most is when they go "ooh, you're wasting paper, don't you know a tree died to give you that paper [or as I like to call it "remarkable marvel of humanity, a light thin object, capable of holding knowledge, art, expression, as well as practical uses, containing objects in boxes, keeping track of things, or even just playing with it or releasing frustration, along with so many other uses] you're wasting?" Look, trees are a crop; you cut down a tree, you plant another. It's like people saying that a potato died to give you your lunch, you should stop eating--for the environment!
Anyway, for anyone actually reading my ramblings, Yeah, I think it's important to not destroy the planet, but first you need to actually get all the facts; and secondly, trying to get people to acknowledge how much better you are than them isn't going to help anything.
